The Manifesto 2000, which was drafted by a group of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, has already been signed by over 72 million people all over the world. The Chairman of the Fundación Cultura de Paz, Federico Mayor Zaragoza, was adamant with regard to the importance of "creating, even inventing, our own attitudes, our own answers, with respect to our attitude during centuries following the Roman proverb si vis pacem, para bellum (if you want peace, prepare for war), with the consequences that we all know". Federico Mayor Zaragoza recommended to reduce the “male predominance in the world” and to recover the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The President of the Autonomous Region of Navarra, Mr. Miguel Sanz stated that there was no need to justify adhesion to the Manifesto because there always are enough reasons recommending to have an active attitude against violence". He also recalled that the Parliament of Navarra adopted a resolution for promoting the culture of peace at schools of the Autonomous Region and that the Fundación Cultura de Paz coincides with  this initiative.
